I prefer recurve bows over flatbows, but I think that's a matter of preference.

I think it depends on your build whether or not to use Flatbows, like with Read the wind flatbows are good

There is no "One best way" to equip a Ranger, or any one.

HOWEVER,

You should have the following:
15^50 Recurve
+5 Energy Recurve
15^50 Longbow
15^50 Flat bow Vampiric (only use with [Read The Wind]
15^50 Short bow Zealous

*for PvP you will want 15^50 Posion 33% Recurves +30hp in most cases. The more bows that do the more things the better. (i.e bleeding, vamp, posion, sundering ect)

1 Set full Radiant Armor
1 Set full Survivors Armor
1 Set mixed and match Radiant/Survivors + minor runes of each Attribute

1 helm of each attribute + a minor rune
1 helm of each attribute + a Major rune
1 helm of each attribute + a Superior rune

*Different builds require different set ups, energy and runes. Mix and match to what you need. (i.e. Marksman Helm + Minor Marks rune, Survivor Boots + Wilderness Minor rune, Radiant Chest + Minor Expertise Rune, ect)

1 Shield (tactics or Command) +30hp or +45hp in a stance
1 One handed Martial Weapon +30hp

Thats the basic Fully equipt there.

I myself have all the hemls listed, 5 Sets of Armor and 30 bows, sevreral differnt Shields with various +10 AR vs, ect.

Yeah, full Survivor's.
Sup vigor, expertise mask. minor marks.
Minor wilderness if your bar is heavily specced.

Usually bring a Long + Recurve myself.

That's why I said FULLY.
As in armor sets, Scythe sets, Hammer sets, Axe sets, Spear sets, Shield sets, and all possible bows.

oic, well this is the PvE-focused forum (so I'm assuming PvE, which is why I mentioned PvP in meh post for the Spear defensive set.) and I thought RtW/Favorable Winds was common there on Ranger bars, assuming you don't have either/don't want to use them replace Flatbow/Spear set with Recurves, but you'll also want to take a Longbow for rupting skills before combat actually starts.

so imo if you have RtW/FW go with what I said, if not go with what Tyla said

By "all bows" I meant anything that would be used in a reasonable circumstance - (Vamp, Zealous, Sundering (?), Elemental, Silencing, Crippling, Poisonous),(Fortitude, Shelter (?)),(15^50, +5),(Short, Recurve, Long, Horn).

I dont use read the wind much and what I have is the following:

4 Armor sets - 2 radiant, 2 survivor. One of each is set up to take an expertise headgear (for most builds), and the other is set up to take either a marksmanship headgear, beast mastery headgear etc for builds that dont need an exp mask. Survivor and Radiant are the only insigs I ever need.

Hammer Wise I have a vampiric, furious, zealous and elemental
Spear Wise I have a vampiric, Elemental and Silencing (No need for zealous with a spear never run out, and furious is a bit wasteful as well)
Daggers are stupid.

Thanks, that's precisely what I was looking for.

So basically an entire set of situational Recurves, Survivor Armor with enough inter-changeable pieces to cover pretty much any attribute mix, and the generic Vamp/Zealous/Elemental for all non-Bow weapons.

truthfully, you just need your spear set, with blind and cripple shields, a +5 recurve bow, a 15^50 flatbow for turret rangering, and a 15^50 recurve for dpsing (lol) the lord. Make sure your recurves are poisonous.

Armor should be survivors with proper runes of attribute, vigor, etc.
